MarineKingPRIME wins MLG Winter Championship
March 26, 2012 – Taipei, TW – As the chaos unfolded at Major League Gaming’s Winter Championships in Columbus, OH, fan favorite and Tt eSPORTS sponsored player MarineKingPRIME walked away with $25,000 and the title of Winter Champion. Having to defeat his rival MVPDongRaeGu in the 2nd straight tournament finals, MarineKing showed poise and expertise as he unraveled his opponent in a stunning display of intelligence and preparation.
 Known as being the “King of Kongs”, MarineKing showed that he is indeed in the top echelon of players in the world as he worked through a rigorous schedule of seasoned GSL Koreans as well as top foreign players to claim a decisive 1st place in his group play. From there, the kept the momentum going by winning his semifinal and winners bracket finals games to end up in the grand final. Up against arguably the best Zerg player in the world, MarineKing showed that he was the king of micro management in a strenuous test of skill. By virtue of a best-of-9 series, MarineKing only dropped 1 game in the finals due to the MLG Extended Series and won the grand finals with a score of 5-2.
His perseverance was no more evident than the larger-than-life smile that he presented after stepping out of the players booth to greet his fans upon his victory. Reinforced with the championship trophy, MarineKingPRIME was able to show the world that he can win a major Starcraft II event.
